10/21-10/23  The Texas Master Naturalists Statewide Conference: 

Texas Stream Team conducted a water quality monitoring training, a quality control session for trained volunteers, and a workshop on using the Enviroscape Watershed Model in the classroom.

9/14/2011 E. coli Bacteria Monitoring Training in Utopia:  Texas Stream Team conducted an E. coli Bacteria Monitoring Training at the Utopia Seniors Center from 1 pm to 3 pm.

9/17/2011 Upper Cibolo Watershed Festival:  Texas Stream Team conducted nonpoint source pollution demonstrations using the Enviroscape Watershed Model and shared relevant publications while staffing a booth at the Upper Cibolo Watershed Festival in Boerne, TX.

9/29/2011-10/1/2011  The Meeting of the Monitors:  Texas Stream Team partnered with the Houston-Galveston Area Council to hold the 2011 Meeting of the Monitors from September 29th to October 1st at the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake.  Attendees participated in exciting hands-on citizen scientist workshops; heard presentations on topics such as water quality in Texas, solutions for urbanizing areas, and volunteer coordination; and networked with like-minded people.  

July 2011

7/13/2011  Teacher workshop in Corpus Christi:  Texas Stream Team conducted a Teacher Workshop at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Many Cunningham Junior High Teachers were trained to take citizen water quality monitoring into the classroom.

7/19/2011  Teacher workshop in Austin:  Texas Stream Team conducted a teacher workshop in Austin at UT Austin.  Teachers from all over the state were trained to take citizen water quality monitoring into the classroom.

2/16/2011 Upper Nueces River Steering Committee Meeting:  The Nueces River Authority will be hosting a steering committee meeting for the upper portion of the basin on February 16 in Uvalde at the Texas AgriLife Extension Center, 1619 Garner Field Rd, from 10am to 2pm.  Texas Stream Team will deliver a presentation about current activities in the basin and the recruitment of new citizen monitors.

2/23/2011 Lower Nueces River Steering Committee Meeting:  The Nueces River Authority will be hosting a steering committee meeting for the lower portion of the basin on February 23 in Corpus Christi at the Harte Research Institute Room 127, located at 6300 Ocean Dr, from 10am to 2pm.  Texas Stream Team will deliver a presentation about current activities in the basin and the recruitment of new citizen monitors.

2/26/2011 City of Kyle Plum Creek Clean-Up:  The City of Kyle and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority are hosting a Plum Creek Clean-Up event for interested local students and citizens at Steeplechase Park in Kyle from 9:30 am to 12 noon.  Texas Stream Team will be hosting a booth at this event with water quality monitoring demonstrations and other information on protecting water quality.  For more information, please contact the City of Kyle at 512-262-3939.

9/13/2010 Monitoring Training in Boerne: Texas Stream Team will be conducting a water quality monitoring certification training at the Cibolo Nature Center on Monday, September 13 from 9:30 am - 5:30 pm.  This training is in collaboration with the Upper Cibolo Creek Watershed Protection Plan and will include members of the Medina River Protection Fund.

Texas Stream Team will conduct a teacher workshop through the Upper Colorado River Authority in San Angelo.  Participants will be trained in core parameters and E.coli monitoring and earn 12 hours of TEEAC credit.

Texas Stream Team will be conducting a training session at the Waco Wetlands facility on June 29th.  This will be a teacher workshop and is targeted toward teachers in the area.

Texas Stream Team will hold an E.coli monitoring training on Texarkana College campus from 1 - 3 pm.  This training is hosted by and primarily for Texarkana College.  Participants will be trained in E.coli only.

March 16th, 2010 - Cibolo Creek Watershed Stakeholder Meeting
The City of Boerne and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality are partnering with local citizens to protect and improve water quality within Upper Cibolo Creek. Join us Tuesday, March 16, 2010 for an Upper Cibolo Creek Watershed Partnership stakeholder meeting. The meeting will be held on the second floor of the Boerne Convention and Community Center located at 820 Adler Rd in Boerne, TX. Refreshments will begin at 6:00 pm with presentations from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.

March 25th, 2010 - Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority Steering Committee Meeting

Texas Stream Team will host a water quality monitoring training in San Marcos, TX at the Landing; Texas Stream Team's headquarters on Spring Lake in the Aquarena Center.  Participants will be trained in core parameters as well as E.coli monitoring.

Monday, November 2nd, 2009 - Texas Stream Team 2009 Annual Partner Meeting - River Systems Institute, Texas State University-San Marcos
As a statewide organization, Texas Stream Team partners and coordinators have extensive scientific and volunteer water quality monitoring knowledge. While we may be separated by geography and organizational mission, one central theme ties us together – improving water resources and quality of life through improved decisions, education and environmental data collection.  

The main goals for this meeting are (1) to provide updates about program activities and learn from our successes; (2) to determine how to adapt to changing environmental, fiscal, and programmatic needs; and (3) to plan for 2010-2011 activities. 

Tuesday November 3rd - "Train the Trainers" Partner Training, quality control session,or a refresher for partners. So far three partner agencies have confirmed their participation.
