February 16, 2008 - 8:30-3:30pm - Texas State University - San Marcos, TX   THIS TRAINING IS FULL.  Texas Stream Team will host a water quality training at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX from 8:30am to 3:30pm.  An additional bacterial monitoring training will be held from 3:30-5:00 on the same day for interested individuals.  E. coli is a newly incorporated Texas Stream Team parameter.  This training is a great opportunity for new and veteran monitors alike to learn bacterial monitoring methods!  Please contact Heidi Moltz via email at hm1079@txstate.edu or phone 512-245-3461 (toll free 877-506-1401) for more information or to sign up for this training.

April 5, 2008 - Volunteer Bacteria Monitor Training - Texas State Aquarium Sea Lab - 10:00 am - 12:30 pm.  Texas Stream Team is offering a training for those interested in becoming a certified water quality monitor.  The bacteriological program teaches monitors to collect E. coli data which is beneficial to better understand human health issues associated with recreation. April 20, 2008 - 2nd Annual Earth Day Festival - Aquarena Center - 12:00-7:00 pm

In keeping with the Common Experience theme, the focus of the activities will be water.  The event is free to the public and will include educational activities for all ages; recycling and green building displays; live music entertainment; food and vendor booths; nature-based entertainment; and blessing of the Springs.  Texas Stream Team will host an environmental education booth featuring the watershed model.

April 22, 2008 - Sabine River Basin Steering Committee Meeting - 10:00 am-1:00 pm at the SRA Environmental Services Division Office-1895 Owens Illinois Rd-Orange, TX.
The purpose of this meeting is to offer stakeholders an opportunity to provide input on water issues in the Sabine Basin.  You are encouraged to attend to provide input on the water issues in your area!  If you plan on attending, please RSVP to Miles Hall, Environmental Services Division Manager at mhall@sratx.org so that proper arrangements can be completed for the luncheon.
