Jason Pinchback
Director
512-245-9148
jp30@txstate.edu

Jason Pinchback has more than fifteen years of professional natural resource management experience in Texas.  Humble roots as a volunteer for the Clean Clear Colorado organization in 1988 helped to cultivate an individual who understands the vital role that resource management plays in creating vibrant lives, communities, and economies.

Jason is the Director of the River Systems Institute’s Texas Stream Team (formerly Texas Watch) program at Texas State University – San Marcos.  In addition to the Texas Stream Team program, he also leads the Cypress Creek watershed and Rio Grande Historical Data Analysis projects for the Institute.  Prior to his employment at Texas State University, Jason worked for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) in the mid-1990s.

Jason received a Bachelors of Science and Masters in Applied Geography from Texas State University-San Marcos.   Recently he has been a board member of the Colorado River Watch Foundation’s Austin Youth River Watch; served as vice-chair for the Lake Austin Advisory Panel for the LCRA; served as a steering committee member for numerous Clean Rivers Partners; and has provided leadership on TMDL, citizen participatory input, and watershed protection projects around the state.

In his free time one might find Jason in the garden or on a quiet stretch of river on a canoe fishing or observing wildlife.  When not outdoors, he enjoys playing music as a percussionist and experimental musician with his self-created Supatomic Positron electronic instrumentation.

jo27@txstate.edu

Josh Oyer began working at Texas Stream Team as an intern in the spring of 2008.  Upon graduation from the Texas State University Department of Geography, Josh was hired to work full-time on a Rio Grande bacterial data analysis project while assisting with leading volunteer water quality monitoring trainings.  In the summer of 2009, Josh was appointed as Statewide Volunteer Coordinator for Texas Stream Team.  From lifeguarding as a teenager to driving the big yellow tube taxi for the Lions Club on the San Marcos River as a college student, Josh has always loved working with or near water.  His main professional goal is to reach out to as many people as possible to communicate the ways in which every citizen can improve the water quality of the community they live in.
